As we know, bases are one of the most important products for a successful and long-lasting gel polish manicure. For quite some time now, almost everyone has been talking about the rubber base for gel polish, but what exactly is it?

Rubber base is a type of gel polish base that has improved elasticity and flexibility. Because the rubber bases have additional plasticizers added, they can easily bend with the nail without breaking or cracking.

The rubber base is applied in the same way as the regular base under the color gel layer, and the baking time is the same: with a UV lamp it is 2-3 minutes, and with an LED lamp – 30 seconds.

Unlike traditional gel polish bases, rubber ones have some distinctive qualities and advantages:

  • Rubber base gives extra strength to flaky, brittle, thin or splitting nails. This type of foundation visibly strengthens problem nails.
    - The rubber base provides a very flexible base that adheres extremely well to natural nails and eliminates the problem of lifting and peeling of the coating.
    - The elasticity of the coating makes the nails more flexible, which means they will bend and not break easily.
  • Leveling the nail plate is significantly easier.*
*This is especially useful for nails with vertical and horizontal unevenness and other defects.
    - Evenly fills the depressions and greatly facilitates the achievement of gel polish with an ideal shine.
    - It is more convenient to apply. Since the rubber base is more dense, it does not flow to the side.
    - Excellently protects the nails from the coloring pigments of the colored gel polish.
    - Its high elasticity prevents the appearance of cracks and fissures.
    - The dense base does not shrink at the tips of the nail plate and does not leave transparent spots after drying, which can occur with regular bases when applying a second coat.

In terms of durability, the rubber base lasts up to four weeks, performing better than regular due to its elasticity. And when the rubber base is colored, you don't even need to apply an additional layer of color if you decide to do a French manicure, for example.
